How do I recover my Microsoft password if it is lost?

Open https://portal.chartercollege.edu , and click on the Student Portal Homepage link.

Student will be directed to the Login.Microsoftonline.com page.

To start the self service password reset process, the student clicks “Forgot my password” link

The password reset page loads, the student will need to fill out the page with the captcha.

Then the student is sent a verification code, this will be sent to the address listed in the Other email field on the Student Master.

The student should click the Email button to send the code to their personal email.

The student will then enter the verification code sent to them, and select a new password. Password requirements are, the password must be at least 8 characters long, it must not contain the word “Charter” and may not have been used in the last 30 days.

Student can now sign in using the credentials they have set up themselves. New students can skip the MFA setup process for the first 30 days . Example screenshots of the login process are below.

New students can skip Multi Factor Authentication by choosing “skip setup” for now.
