UPDATING AND UPLOADING THE SYLLABUS
- Navigate to your course’s homepage; click the “Syllabus” link in the Navigation Bar.
- Click the link for the syllabus. Save the file to your computer (if prompted).
- Open the downloaded document in Microsoft Word; fill in your contact information, to include office/open lab hours for the current MOD (if applicable).
Use Save As… and save the file to your desktop; add the MOD and/or instructor name to the filename.
Ex: HV1410_HWGrid_20210125_Niezgoda
(Note: Remember where you saved this file.) - Go back to the Syllabus Page in Canvas; click the Edit button toward the top right of the page.
- Delete the text/link currently in the text editor. Next, find and click “Insert” at the top of the Editor, and select Document Upload Document
- Find the saved document on your computer and either drag it to the rocket ship box or click the box and use File Explorer/Finder to navigate to and locate your modified Syllabus. Click the file, click “Open,” and then click “Submit” once you’ve identified the file.
- Make sure that your new syllabus title is the only text/link in the editor. If the old text is there, erase it … only leaving the link to the document that you updated and uploaded.
Click “Update Syllabus.” Test by clicking the Syllabus Link and opening the file.
